1. Acceptance of These Terms

By using PRESSLOCK, purchasing a package, or submitting an intake questionnaire, you agree to the terms outlined on this page. They are written in plain language so you know exactly what to expect from us and what we expect from you.

2. Secure Checkout Through Stripe

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We never see, store, or handle your full card details. Stripe handles that end to end with bank-level encryption, and your transaction is protected by Stripe's industry-leading security standards.

3. One-Time Payment, No Subscriptions

Every PRESSLOCK package is a one-time payment. There are no subscriptions, no retainers, and no hidden fees. You pay once and we deliver your placement.

4. The 7-Day Publish Timeline Depends on You

We commit to publishing your article within 7 days of receiving your completed intake questionnaire. That clock starts the moment you submit your intake, not the moment you place your order. If you delay in completing the intake, your publish timeline shifts accordingly. We can only move fast when you give us what we need fast.

5. Prompt Responses Keep Things on Track

If we reach out to you during the process, whether to complete your intake, clarify details, request more information, or ask for a different image, we need a prompt response. Any delay in hearing back from you will push your 7-day timeline back by the same amount. We are doing the work on our end and we just need you to meet us halfway with timely replies.

6. Your Intake Is Our Blueprint

We write your article based entirely on the information you provide in your intake questionnaire. The more accurate, detailed, and descriptive you are, the better your article will be. Vague or incomplete answers lead to a vague article, so take the intake seriously and give us real substance to work with.

7. You Grant Us Permission to Publish What You Provide

By submitting your intake, you give us full permission to publish anything you put in it. Quotes, facts, stories, achievements, company details. If it's in the intake, it's fair game for your article. If there's something you don't want published, don't put it in the intake. Simple as that.

8. Human-Written Articles, No AI

Every article is written by an experienced human publicist. We never use AI to write your story. News outlets actively screen for AI-generated content and will reject it, so this is non-negotiable on our end.

9. We Write the Article Without Asking for Edits

To meet our 7-day timeline and to satisfy each publication's specific writing guidelines, we write your article in full without sending it back and forth for your edits. This is intentional. It's what allows us to move fast and get you placed. Every publication has its own style rules, and our writers are trained to match them.

10. Refunds

We want you to feel confident placing an order, so here's where we stand on refunds. Since each article is custom-written by a real publicist and placed on a real news outlet, the work begins as soon as your intake is submitted. For that reason, we're unable to offer refunds for change of mind or dissatisfaction with the article's angle.

That said, if you place an order and your business falls under a topic that our publications are unable to place an article for, we'll let you know promptly and issue a full refund. We'd rather be upfront about that than take your money for something we can't deliver.

11. No Edits on the Final Article

Once your article is written and published, we do not accept edit requests. We stand behind the quality of our writing and the accuracy of what you provided in your intake. If you are genuinely unhappy with the published article, you may request that we remove it from the publication. However, this comes with no refund, as the work was completed and the placement was made.

12. Up to 3 Backlinks

You may include up to 3 backlinks in your article, pointing to your website, portfolio, or specific landing pages you want to draw attention to. These must be provided in your intake questionnaire.

13. Custom Images

If you purchase a package that includes a custom image, you may upload your own photo to appear on your article. Images must be in landscape format. Custom images may add up to one business day for editorial approval. If your image isn't approved by the publication, we'll reach out and ask for a replacement, which is why prompt responses matter.

14. Publication Selection

You choose your preferred publication from our network of 30+ outlets at checkout. Our publicists will confirm your choice and verify it's a good fit for your story angle. We reserve the right to suggest an alternative outlet if your preferred choice isn't a match for your topic.

15. Articles Stay Live Indefinitely

Once published, your article stays live on the news outlet indefinitely, continuing to deliver SEO value and backlinks long after publication. We do not control the publication's site and cannot guarantee permanent availability if the outlet removes content on their end, but this is rare.

16. Industries and Topics We Cannot Accept

To maintain the integrity of our news placements, we are unable to accept articles covering certain topics. These include politics and foreign policy, slanderous or malicious content, multi-entity listicles, adult content and pornography, crypto and NFTs, unverified pharma claims, gambling and betting, moneymaking schemes, stock or investment offers, drugs, CBD, tobacco and vaping, active or controversial lawsuits, and legal or immigration advice.
